EastBanc-W.D.C. Partners projects on Squares 37 and 50 will fully adhere to the District of Columbia’s Green Building Act of 2006. We are also confident that the projects will obtain, at a minimum, LEED Silver Certification under the LEED NC 3.0 Certification program, however we will work diligently with our architects and engineers to try to achieve LEED Gold certification.
EastBanc-W.D.C. Partners, LLC is committed to developing projects which are environmentally responsible and designed to be efficient throughout their lifecycles. Energy efficiency comes in many forms; constructing buildings with recycled materials reduces the environmentally degrading effects of harvesting raw materials from the Earth. That in turn helps improve everyone’s health by improving air and water quality.
Other project goals include the reduction of energy use for conditioning of air and heating water – both major contributors to greenhouse gases. EastBanc, Inc., as long term owners and managers of their properties, considers the selection and design of building systems that are energy efficient and long-lived to be of utmost importance both for environmental reasons and for their lower long-term operating costs. These same systems are the foundation for some of the most advanced, energy-efficient contemporary buildings. For these reasons EastBanc-W.D.C. Partners looks forward to exploring additional energy saving features that can further enhance the system’s performance and increase energy efficiency.
